Canon Elan 7ne

So, this is my latest toy. Basically it's the film equivalent of my 30D. I've toyed around with it a little bit and it's controls are very very similar to the 30D. The first time I shot a pic I actually looked at the back of it expecting to see a digital picture. haha I suppose I'll get used to it with time. I bought camera body because I needed a film camera for my photography class this semester and it is compatible with all the lenses i currently have for my 30D!!! =D I'm pretty sure i got it for a good deal off Ebay, at the price of 146 shipped. Other auctions of the same camera body went for 175 and up. Hopefully, this semester will come out with some nice prints from black and white film. We'll see what happens!!! =D

Pho the Gioi

Nothin' beats a good ol' bowl of pho. My coworkers and I have been going to this Vietnamese restaurant for some time now and it is definetly one of the better places here in the bay area. It's located on Gellert blv. in the same shopping area as OSH. The resturant is cleanly and doesn't smell when you walk in. The pho comes with many veggies, nice lean slices of beef, steak and trip. I always ask for no tendon so i couldnt comment on how the tendon is. The soup is tasy and savory. MOST importanly they bring you WATER WHEN YOU ASK FOR IT!!!! HAHAHA this place gets two thumbs up!!

Explosion @ Abyss 1.16.2009

Boredom and Photoshop

Last week about this time of week I was bored out of my mind with absolutely nothing to do other than wait for classes to start up again THIS week. Since most of the other schools had started classes already, I was left with nothing to do other than tinker around in Photoshop. It was interesting and fun and it preoccupied me for about an hour or so. I'm sure that I'll be tinkering more tonight since today was only the first day of class.... enjoy!!!! =D

US Airways Flight 1549

Earlier today US Airways flight 1549 took off and headed for Charlotte, N.C. Shortly after takeoff the airliner encountered a flock of birds that decommissioned both jet engines. Reports claimed that this was an extremely rare event and thanks to the highly trained pilot, Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger, the plane was put down into the Hudson river with out a single casualty. In my opinion this is nothing short of a miracle. A plane crash landing without a single casualty? UNHEARD OF!!! A few cases of Hypothermia and minor injuries were all the harm encountered. Pier 39 Adventure

Well it is Tuesday and it's been months since me and Kelly and I have hung out, EXCEPT for webcamming. She considers that hanging out. At any rate, we planned to hang out today and take a trip down to Pier 39 for some chowder bread bowls. The chowder didn't happen but we did go down to the pier. Most of the spots we went I didn't bother to take out the camera, but I did get a few shots in throughout our trip. So, thanks Kelly for a super awesome day!!!! :D enjoy

(Note to self: pay more attention to parking hours, no tickets are needed. thank God the meter maid was lazy today......PFT!! parked 3 hours in a 2 hour zone.....*SMFH*)

The Avenue on Noriega

This bar called Avenue Lounge on 20th and Noriega is where Impulse will be hosting its next party on Saturday the 17th. Its a nice little place with some couches and tables. Its got plenty of seating along the back wall the and a VIP area upstairs that comfortably fits about 15 people. Overall, it seems like a pretty chill spot although it is long and narrow. That is the only drawback to this venue. But look for yourself....and make sure to stop by Avenue Lounge on the 17th to get drunk with all us Impulse people..... :D

Snowboarding Trip #3

Well this was my third trip up for the 08/09 season and it didn't turn out very well. For starters, Boreal was SUPER icy on all runs except for a few spots where there was some man made powder. The terrain park was not groomed very well for the medium sized jumps, jibs, rails and boxes. That, however, was the least of my troubles. On the first run of the day I got way to exuberant and ended up falling off a box. I landed directly on my right shoulder. At first I thought I was ok, but as the day went on I noticed the pain becoming more and more excruciating. On the drive home I could barely shift gears, reach for my energy drink or change the radio. It was definitely the most irritating and unpleasant drive I've made in my life to this date. Once I was back in the bay area I went to the ER just to make sure i didnt dislocate anything, damage my clavical or have any fractures. The doctor reported back from the Xrays that there was no apperant damage.....thank god. So, they druged me and gave me a sling for comfort. Its been about two days now and my arm still hurts like a B*%&#. Well, tommorrow it's back to work and I'm not sure how thats going to go. I'm sure I'll be having a hard time getting my work done......we'll see. Heres a few pix from tahoe and after i got back from the ER.

Photoshoot: Gabbi Ho

This is my friend Gabbi, she volunteered to do a shoot with me because I was super antsy to use my new AlienBee strobe light!!! I hope I did well for experimenting for the first time with a powerful off camera flash unit.....(3 edited pictures to come....when Gabbi finally chooses the 3 she wants =P)

Snowboarding Trip #2

The second trip up for the season was super successful!!!! The snow was absolutely beautiful and the drive there and back was traffic free. The runs were all powder the whole day, we didn't encounter any bad runs.
