Well it's that time of year again. CHRISTMAS!!!! I've been out here in Sioux City, South Dakota for the last week or so visiting my mom and this side of the family for the holidays. The days have been long and restless but relaxing at the same time. I'm defiantly taking advantage of this brief vacation before school starts back up again. Once it does I'll be MIA until the next break we have. Last week, Glaskat and Mission rock presented a very interesting turn of events for me. I hope it turns out for the better. I'm just not so sure it can be done. Why? Why? WHY? didnt I follow my instincts in the first place? Sorry for the ambiguity, but I feel like a silly fool. =\ At any rate here are some pictures I took of Pepsi, my families little 10ish yr old doggy. She has not left my side since I've arrived in South Dakota. She sleeps at my side every night and keeps me warm in this superrrrrr cold weather. I had heard that in the last few days there's been 21" of snowfall. Which all had to be cleared from the driveway. -____-

Shit Got Real

I haven't made a post in quite some time on here but that is mostly due to Greg and Gino keeping me extremely busy with their events. I've also taken on quite a few shoots recently as well. School started the other day which has had an extremely steep learning curve that i haven't been able to adjust to just yet.

I just came back to this blog after leaving it for almost 3 months or more. I started this post back in October but never finished it. I have been really overwhelmed these last few months with EVERYTHING. I feel like i have absolutely no time for anything anymore, but now its finals time. After this week everything will be all good for about 3 weeks then the hell starts all over again. There are so many things going on in my life at the moment i hardly have time to talk about everything. The basics are I'm up here at UCD workin' my ass off, I'm still workin' the club scene and I haven't forgotten about anyone. I've just been busy as hell, so forgive my lack of communication.

Infectious something or other

It's been quite a while since I posted anything, but I've been really busy with photoshoots and working parties. I haven't had any time to enjoy taking pictures like i usually do. There have been many changes in my life recently including my return to the Team USA Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu team which is probably the most exciting event. I found a room in a condo in Davis, I'm registered for classes and i bought a new bike for transportation/fitness while I'm there. Pictures of the place and my new bike are pending. When i have some time I'll get to it. I suppose that's whats good for now.

On to the gross stuff. Since i returned to the gym I think I got some ringworm or some kind of bacteria infection from the mats. Its kinna gross but its interesting to look at. I started treating it with Lamisil and I think its getting better. *shrugs* enjoy!!! hahaha

Father's Day Gone Wedding

Father's day dinner was at my grandparents place this year and of course we had a craaaaaaackin meal and my family bs'ed about everything possible. The highlight of the night however was my cousin's wedding dress that she bought for super cheap on craigslist! Birdies in the Bush

A few weeks ago my dad noticed that every time you walk to the front door at our house a bird would come tearing outta the bush/tree near the walkway. It would fly to a near by tree and wait until you're gone then return to the bush. No one thought anything of it until my dad looked in the bush after about a week or two and found a little nest with about a half dozen eggs in it!!!! The little hatched chicks were so cute!! But, sadly they got eaten 3 days after hatching. =( We think a crow or cat got to them. Poor lil buggers, they were so cute!! Enjoy folks!!

A Productive Monday

Today was a fairly productive day. I woke up and went to work for a good 6 hour shift and made the best of the 2 cars that I worked on. Other than that it has been ridiculously slow in the automotive industry. After work I made my way down to Bronstine's where they actually had the jazz guitar book in stock!! Stupid Guitar Center is lame-o and doesn't carry the Micky Baker book. As my last stop before heading home I went to my Grandma's sisters house. Now I'm not quite sure what to call her other than LaLa because ever since I was a little rascal that's what I called her. Would she be called a Grandmother-in-law? LOL if someone could help me out on that, that would be awesome. Anyway here are some random pix from out in front of my house. We've been having alot of birds in the neighborhood and they're cute little buggers. Enjoy!!! =)

SF Academy of Sciences

I have been super busy lately with all the shooting for clubs, finals and projects. I haven't had much time for anything else, nor have I had the energy for much else. =\ On the up side my sister is graduating from high school finally and she's going off to SJSU, where I'm sure she'll do great. At least she's all situated with housing and everything, I have yet to find a place in Davis yet. Owell things will work themselves out.

A while back Claud and I went to the Academy of Sciences to fulfill a class extra credit requirement. I have to say that the new building is awesome!!! It was everything I had expected and more. I'll end here and leave you with some pix. Sorry for not having edited anything lately I haven't had the luxury of time to do much editing. So these are straight outta the cam =\ Enjoy!!!

Crazy Birthday Weekend

I have been effin' busy lately and so much has happened in the last few weeks it's almost retarded. To start things off I must say that having anxiety is the gayest thing on earth. It really puts a damper on completing daily tasks and it leaves you exhausted and depressed. Well its that time of year again for finals and the anxiety thing has really made it hard to study and complete the last final course work to be done. Last weekend was interesting since it was my bday. I finally went out JUST TO GO OUT!!! haha... That's unheard of. Went to Boss and Heights, Boss was an ok party with a few good tunes here and there. Heights was ok not many people but all my friends were there which made it fun even though the music was wack.

Larry Larry Laryy Moore.....my friend you made a friggin mess in the club, the clubs bathroom, Claud's car, my bathroom and ON YOURSELF....on MY birthday!!!! hahaha its all good though I took care of your ass and made sure u didn't die in your sleep. It was wack as shit I had to wake up at 930 to go paint a damn porch at the rental house in the blistering heat. Owell life sucks sometimes.

A few other random things happened and here's where the pictures roll in. First of I had the pleasure of going to dinner with my aunt that I don't get to see too often. We conversed about school and stress eventually moving onto the stock market and retirement plans. Love you auntie!! This happens to be one of my sisters creations. Its a part of her final senior exit project. Shes a pretty bad ass cake maker I must say. Sometimes i cant believe the shit she whips up!!!

SF Cable Car Museum

Took a trip down to Washington street and the cable car museum the other day. It's a pretty neat spot with a lot of history of old time San Francisco. Those of you with an interest in that sort of stuff should definitely take a trip down that way. Enjoy the pix folks!!! =D

So I've never actually been do Chinatown in the daytime. I must say that it is quite a sight, it looks totally different than in the middle of the night when Im on my way to the clubs on Broadway. There are so many little nick nack shops its amazing!! and the ladies on the street corners handing out the fliers for resturants are funny too. I took a picture of one of them and she sure didnt like it. too bad the pic came out all blurry and wierd looking. =\ owell maybe a round two in Chinatown later. Enjoy!!

Propaganda Project

This has been a rough week and a half for me. I found out that I have been driving myself so hard with school, work and all the club crap that I ended up having a panic attack. Since I didn't really know what anxiety really was or how it affects one, the whole episode send me for a ride on the loopy train. lol. After seeing doctors and psychiatrists for the last couple weeks everything is starting to return back to normal. Right now I'm gonna chill on the clubbing so I may not be around as much until summer rolls around.

For one of my final projects in photo class we were given a task to create a propaganda photo conveying any idea you saw fit. I felt that juggling 5 classes on an extremely odd schedule that its very spread out is a major stress factor in my life. Along side with the added stress that it is my last semester at skyline before i transfer off to UCD. I hope this propagandistic piece conveys my message. Enjoy folks.

Quizno's Torpedo

Last Sunday me and Claud went on a little downtown outing. Before we began on our journey I was dying of hunger since I had only eaten an omelet at like 9am. I decided to try out the new 4 dollar torpedo that Quizno's has been advertising. I have to say that it was pretty bomb and I think I'll go get another one later this week. Opening Day: Giants vs. Brewers

The opening day for baseball season was on April 7 for the year 2009. It was supposed to rain that day but we were blessed with a nice overcast with a few sunny spots here and there. Pops took me to the game and the stadium was PACKED!!! It was a pretty chill game the Giants were leading the score board throughout the game ending in a win. The club level seats we were in were pretty close to the home plate. Midway in the game I snuck down to the first row where there was an older guy who said he was leaving soon and I could have his ticket so I could stay in his seat to take some pix. I dont know who he was but major props to him!!! heres some photos from the game. Enjoy!!! =D

The FireHouse to StarFruit

Lately I have been extraordinarily busy with photoshoots, night clubs, and Ray's wedding. I really haven't had much time for myself except for the time in between post processing that I use to check the various accounts. Myspace, Facebook and ModelMayhem being the main ones I wast my life with. School seems like it will never end and I'm so close to transferring I can taste it!!! I'm really excited to not be at Skyline next semester but I fear for the amount of studying that I'll have to do after I transfer. Teresa I know your reading this...you're the best. Thanks for being the awesome crazy ass Korean person you are. Moving on... I've had a bunch of sets of pictures that have been building up on my desktop and I decided that i should just clean things up and post them all at once because the clutter is irking me. Off the top of my head I think there are 4 or 5 sets and ill just give you a brief tid bit about each.

Set 1: McD's

This tends to be the type of food i eat before an event because I'm so pressed for time between work, guest list and the actual event. FML Imma be a fat ass REAL soon....if not already... -___-

Set 2: Ben n Jerry's in Davis

Before returning to SF one day Claud and I decided that we were gonna grab some B&J's because she had a coupon for a FREEEEE small cone. I was all over like a fat kid on cake!!! hahaha. There was this cute little kid in a stroller that couldn't stop staring at me and ended up crying after I snapped the pic. I felt hella bad. Check out that sweater on the one little girl....LMAOOO it was hella funny and cute. The sweater is about 10x too big for her.

he's a homo and was amazed at what ISO 3200 and IS can do....

Set 4: Fire House Museum in SF

I believe this is located on Presidio Ave. right off of Geary. This place was AWESOME!!! There was SOOOO much history crammed into this one little tiny garage. If i had a notebook at the time I would have took some notes down to put on here but i didn't know it was gonna be so interesting. The have the different fire trucks that date way way back to the horse drawn days and manual pumping days. There are pieces of fused plates and metal that show what the super hot flames can do to our possessions. They also have the old leather fire helmets and suits that were used before the modern equipment of today. If anyone is interested it is DEFINITELY worth checking out.

Set 5: Pacifica Run

I took a stroll down to Rockaway beach one day right after some big storms because the sky was absolutely beautiful and the sunset was indescribable. There was a little pug dog or something running around that was too cute. Of course he got photographed...lol

Set 6: Star Fruit

To start off those noodles and the pork bun were my lunch for that day. Claud's mom brought home that starfruit looking thing down there one day and I said to myself..."WTF is that thing??!!!" Apparently it is something that you can only get at certain times at certain Chinese markets. I walked up and down Noriega with Teresa one day in attempts to find another one because I didn't get to try the first one. Needless to say my ghetto "chinglish" left me empty handed. BUT ISN'T THAT THE COOLEST CRAZIEST LOOKING FRUIT EVER???????????

Set 7: Yerba Buena Garden

One day Claud and I decided to take a trip to the Cartoon Art Museum. They did not allow cameras inside so i have no pictures from there. It was on mission and 2nd st. I believe. That place was a trip. They have all these old drawings and gels from old cartoons. It was pretty neat and we got in for free so no complaints. Worth a trip down there if your in the area. After we walked to Yerba Buena Gardens where I took some pix of random people and i chased a humming bird around until I got ONE decent photo of it..... it took FOREVER!!

Set 8: Waiting for Cryssa

Teresa came along to the shoot I did with Cryssa. I was bored so I pulled out the cam. TK thought she was looking like a dirty wreck so naturally i pushed the camera in her face to irritate her =). We stopped by the 711 while we waited because TK was thirsty and I found a wall-O-cup-O-noodles....mmmmmmm.....MSG!!!

Set 9: Waiting for Ktina

I got bored while i waited on location for Ktina. Rockaway beach in Pacifica has some pretty interesting little birds that eat stuff out of sand that washes up on the beach. Not sure what they're called or what they were eating but they were fun to watch. After I was done with the shoot there was this CRAZZZZZYYYY sunset that like split the sun into 3 pieces. Not to sure how that happens, probly has to do with light refraction or something. Whatever it was made for a bomb ass picture.

RIP Eddie C......haven't seen you since high school. But, i still remember kickin' it with you the Carlo's and the rest of the gang. I pray that God has something much better in store for you. I remember you being a quiet fellow but you were always extremely nice and charismatic. Even though the time I knew and spent with you was 5 almost 6 years ago I find it hard to forget a face and yours will never be forgotten. I'm sorry that I will be hard pressed to attend your viewing or funeral because of prior engagements that I have. I wish you the best possible afterlife. Rest in Paradise Eddie, you wont be forgotten.

Easter Sunday 4.12.2009

This year Easter Sunday was super chill. I went to Synergy's BBQ in the afternoon then came home to the fambam and a friggin' FEAST!!! There were shrimp and beef kabobs, clams, ravioli, fruit salad, ambrosia, Hawaiian rolls, mixed salad, cheese cake, and a carrot cake that was hand made!!! I didnt try to stuff the whole table down mythroat because I knew there would be plenty of left overs and boy was I right!! I had some of the left over raves tonight for dinner. After dinner I headed down to Abyss to work the teen event for Bayfunktion. It was a crackin party!!! haha too bad I'm not in highschool anymore. At any rate heres the flix with the fambam... UCD......ACCEPTED!!!!

It has been such a busy semester that I have no idea where all the time is going. I finally got accepted to UCD and UCSC and I'm still waiting on confirmation from UCI and UCSD. Since UCD is so close to home I'll probly go there. It is also the cheapest place to live out of the 4 UC's I applied to. Durring my Econ. class today I started rethinking about majoring in it. I'm starting to doubt that I'm cut out for it. =\ This semester has been so busy that my room is so much like a pig sty that it's embarassing to bring ANYONE in here. LOL I hope I'll be able to get all my shit straight before I leave for a UC. I need to clear up my debt so that I'm not as stressed about working rather than going to class. From here I shall leave you with some pictures from preasent and past. ENJOY!!!! =D

The 3rd post i ever made back in May 08 was my first attempt in making a circular background. here are my improvements!!! They've come a LONGGGGGG way since the very first one. =D

A while back Claudia and I tried this resrurant that was supposed to be "Soul Food" however it was just BBQ burgers and buffalo wings. LOL the food was definetly good but way over priced and not very filling. This place was called Broken Record and it was on Geneva and Mission (kinda) its a few blocks twoard the cow palace on Geneva.

Workin Hard...

The last week or so has been extremely busy for me. I've been trying to get my new website up and running. The first half of the week I was working with Spencer T. to get the HTML code modulated into what is now my new website. It'll be nice to separate the club gigs from my every day personal stuff that I write here on this blog. I ran into a problem with the domain name for the second half of the week. The DNS settings were supposed to be automatically configured for me, but during the process Google screwed up. With the help of my good buddy Tony we were able to clear the site service and reconfigure the DNS settings....so everything is now all good. If you havent already check out my new site. Last friday I did a shoot for Ktina at Rockaway Beach down in Pacifica. It was a pretty chill shoot, like 2 friends just kickin it takin pix with no stress. =) haha climing up the side of the mountain to get to the view at the top was interesting. We were both in sandals and it was a really steep climb!!! Atleast the view from up top was awesome. The 4th picture does it a little justice but not enough. Long ass day today. School then work then a meeting til 1130. Man I'm DONE!!! Well I'm finally gonna put a website together with the help of an old high school buddy, Spencer Tai. The URL in the end will be www.FormosaFotos.com if it is still available when i go to buy it. It will be a blogger style site with a smugmug account. That is the cheapest way to go since im going to start with the basic account. If I need more out of smugmug I can always upgade later. Im planing on keeping this blog separate from the website since it will be mainly for industry use, photoshoots and an online portfolio (possibly). I may use FlickR for that instead. If anyone has any suggestions for me...they are much appreciated!!! just comment at the end of the blog with them ( i made it so anyone can comment :P)!!!

Zen Bistro in Millbrae

About a week ago Claud was given a $20 gift certificate to a place we had never tried before, Zen Bistro. Located on Broadway in Millbrae its a fairly fancy sushi restaurant with EXCELLENT food. There is nothing bad to say about this place at all. The food was fantastic and the service was deffinetly above par. Even though the cost was about $10~$15 a plate on average, it was worth every penny. The endlessly changing lighting and new wave music made for a tranquil setting that was mezmerizing. I sure they do it on purpose so we eat more!!! haha. Overall, if you havent tried this place make sure you do. =)

The food LOOKS as good as it tastes too!!! enjoy!!

RIP brother. Its a shame that such things are taken from people so young. God must have better plans for a young man as honorable as yourself. Even though I did not know you for a long time it was easy to see the fantastic personality that made you who you were. You will forever be missed by many including myself. So what ever it is God had in store for you, I pray that you have moved onto a place much bigger and more meaningful than this. I pray for a peaceful paradise for you. Will meet agian another day brother. Good bye for now.

Relaxing on Sunday

Today was a pretty fulfilled Sunday. I ate Pho with TK for lunch in San Mateo where she was supposed to meet Claud, but it seems that every time they're supposed to meet something ALWAYS comes up. haha, Owell, next time. I got some pix of my favorite little poochy, Swisher, after lunch. While i was waiting for Claud to get ready I snapped some pix of the flowers around her area. Only purple ones because my camera doesnt like that color for some reason.....-___- We saw "Race to Whitch Mountain" that was a really goood movie. I reccomend everyone to see it and now I'm currently watching Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. It's also a pretty good flick so hit it up!! haha well enjoy the pix :)

A Fine and Dandy Weekend

Well this last weekend has been pretty eventful. I saw watchmen on Friday night which totally sucked in my opinion. Then on Saturday night I worked at Sutra shooting a Nightlife Entertainment event for a few bucks. The club owner is pretty chill and so are the bartenders and other employees. On Sunday Claud and I attempted to hit up the remodeled Academy of Sciences but we lagged too much and at 4 o'clock they still wanted to charge us 20 bucks!!! So we went to the DeYoung meuseum instead because its FREEEE after 4:30. On tuesday I spent some time in the darkroom printing some photos I took on our journy through Hippy Hill to get to the DeYoung museum. Speaking of which, some hippy bum chick started tailing us and pulling out a knife when she saw my film camera with the 70-200mm L lens mounted to it.....=\......a little scary but there was a crowd of people walking by that we V lined for. Once we were in the crowd that chick and her two friends backed off and dissapeared. PHEW!!!! haha

After I finished in the darkroom I packed up and headed for Davis for the night. When I got there I stopped by University Honda to discuss potential employment in the Fall when I mostlikely transfer to UCD. In davis I killed a wasp flying around in Clauds room by spraying it with deoderant or Febreez or something!!! LOL poor lil guy.

This morning I drove home for work where i had a nice little 04 civic sitting in my stall waiting for the tranny to be ripped outta it..... -_____- not exactly what i expected to do today but it was fun for the most part. After work my supper sweet buddy Teresa K. and I hit up som Pho in Westlake and then bought lil Swisher some food cuz he was hungry and whining......big time FAIL TK!!!! So thanks for the pho homegirl!!! t'was FUNNN as always!! :D

So today was filled with more messed up weather. It was raining and hailing on and off all day which made for some pretty wet clothing walking to and from school...=\ Speaking of school. I now remember why I am not a biology major or anything silly like that. I kinna hate bio. Every class i just wanna shoot myself in the head if I gotta hear about one more different type of cell. Night Time in SF

The last few weeks I've been pretty busy with school making sure that I will pass all my classes with flying colors so that I can transfer to UC Davis in the fall. Having a photo class this semester gives me all the more reason to go out and shoot random things at random times. So what I'm fairly accustomed to now is carrying both the 30D and the Elan7. That way I can have the digital equivalent to all the film images I produce.

Speaking of film, I (tried to) develop my first roll of B&W film last Thursday. Talk about FAIL. I induced the "fixer" before the "developer" therefore ruining the whole roll and losing all my precious images. I swear if I do that again Im'ma have to slap myself friggin' silly!!!! Owell, live and learn. At any rate here are some of the images I shot on film and lost due to my idiotic mistake...

Lately, as everyone knows the weather here in SF has been exceptionally crappy. The rain has be going non-stop for what feels like months and has made for some pretty amazing sky photos but trudging through the water all day every day is getting to be a bit tedious. Honda has been super slow especially since we hired 2 new guys, the work has been getting dispersed even more. Today I had my first midterm for human bio which wasn't as bad as I had predicted but we'll see how it plays out. Other than that here's a couple shots of my Itouch. Its super sad because now i feel somewhat dependent upon it to get me through the school day without being completely bored everyday..... :-\

Terrified on US Hwy 50

Well, this last weekend was supposed to be a nice relaxing snowboarding trip with the DNC/Impulse staff. It did turn out to be a fun a$$ trip however the drive to and from the South Lake Tahoe area was the most terrifying experience of my life. I reserve the right as of right now to call my self a completely insane moron. I say this because who the F*$% takes a 2 wheel drive civic with no limited slip/posi/locking differential and drives through a 2 way traffic mountain pass? Well, I'm dumb enough to do it, and it was NOT fun nor was it a walk in the park. I swear there was no scarier feeling on earth, having only one wheel spinning to eat through the snow to grab what little traction was available. There on the rout up to Tahoe it wasn't so bad i fishtailed once or twice but quickly counter steered and regained control. However on the trip back home it was an entirely different situation.

The snow and fog made it tremendously difficult to see even 10 ft. in front of my car and the snow and ice was building up on my windshield and wipers, thus making it even harder to see. This was the least of my problems and didn't scare me even 1/10 as much as everything else did. I HAD NO TRACTION AT ALL and I was scared for my life along with my passengers lives during the whole mountain pass. Every banked turn we would come across my rear tires would slid out and i would have to counter steer and pray that i didn't hit the side of the mountain. There were two times where I wasn't able to regain control. Once I was thrown into a full 360 where there was a bank of icy snow in the middle section of a tight turn and once when I was crossing an iced over bridge. THANK GOD no one behind me hit me and I managed to keep myself out of the guard rails and rock slide area.

There are moments in situations like these that make you realize what and who matters in your life. As these things happen it's the only thing that flashes in front of your eyes besides turmoil. There were 3 situations that I remember in particular. On the last few hills of chain control the roads hadn't been plowed in hours and the snow became so thick that I could barely move the car. I was just inching in all directions. I had no steering and the car was drifting left and right faster and more unpredictable than ever and is i inced up the hill I passed a KO'ed 2wd vehicle on my right. At that point in time I knew there was no turning back but I seriously thought that my car was gonna be in the same situation stuck on the road stuck in the storm. Earlier in the drive I hit a patch of ice crossing an icy bridge and as I spun to a stop some jerk off tries passing me and comes within inches of rear ending me and sending me into a vicious spin. I almost pissed my pants when that happen.

However, nothing came even close to the horror I experienced when there was a line of 6 oncoming cars 20 ft in front of me. At that moment my rear wheels lost traction and I started to slide in nose first into the oncoming cars. As I approached the other vehicles I was at an angle of 45 or 60 degrees or more. I immediately counter steered and tried to hit anything other than a car coming at me. The last car past by me and I missed clipping his bumper by inches. Finally a second later after the last car traction caught and the rear snapped back and fishtailed a few times but control was regained. The horrible feelings that went through my body at that moment are indescribable. The feeling of being almost sure you are going to be T-boned and then miraculously by the luck of God you aren't is the most stressful and wildly terrifying event I've ever experienced.

I am not a huge practitioner of religion, but someone up there was really watching out for me and my passengers. Thank you God, Nana, Papa, Noni, Grandpa Carlo, Uncle Mike and all others watching over us all, including the 2 other vehicles I was caravaning with that night.

So, this is my latest toy. Basically it's the film equivalent of my 30D. I've toyed around with it a little bit and it's controls are very very similar to the 30D. The first time I shot a pic I actually looked at the back of it expecting to see a digital picture. haha I suppose I'll get used to it with time. I bought camera body because I needed a film camera for my photography class this semester and it is compatible with all the lenses i currently have for my 30D!!! =D I'm pretty sure i got it for a good deal off Ebay, at the price of 146 shipped. Other auctions of the same camera body went for 175 and up. Hopefully, this semester will come out with some nice prints from black and white film. We'll see what happens!!! =D

Pho the Gioi

Nothin' beats a good ol' bowl of pho. My coworkers and I have been going to this Vietnamese restaurant for some time now and it is definetly one of the better places here in the bay area. It's located on Gellert blv. in the same shopping area as OSH. The resturant is cleanly and doesn't smell when you walk in. The pho comes with many veggies, nice lean slices of beef, steak and trip. I always ask for no tendon so i couldnt comment on how the tendon is. The soup is tasy and savory. MOST importanly they bring you WATER WHEN YOU ASK FOR IT!!!! HAHAHA this place gets two thumbs up!!

Last week about this time of week I was bored out of my mind with absolutely nothing to do other than wait for classes to start up again THIS week. Since most of the other schools had started classes already, I was left with nothing to do other than tinker around in Photoshop. US Airways Flight 1549

Earlier today US Airways flight 1549 took off and headed for Charlotte, N.C. Shortly after takeoff the airliner encountered a flock of birds that decommissioned both jet engines. Reports claimed that this was an extremely rare event and thanks to the highly trained pilot, Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger, the plane was put down into the Hudson river with out a single casualty. In my opinion this is nothing short of a miracle. A plane crash landing without a single casualty? UNHEARD OF!!! A few cases of Hypothermia and minor injuries were all the harm encountered. Pier 39 Adventure

Well it is Tuesday and it's been months since me and Kelly and I have hung out, EXCEPT for webcamming. She considers that hanging out. At any rate, we planned to hang out today and take a trip down to Pier 39 for some chowder bread bowls. The chowder didn't happen but we did go down to the pier. Most of the spots we went I didn't bother to take out the camera, but I did get a few shots in throughout our trip. So, thanks Kelly for a super awesome day!!!! :D enjoy

The Avenue on Noriega

This bar called Avenue Lounge on 20th and Noriega is where Impulse will be hosting its next party on Saturday the 17th. Its a nice little place with some couches and tables. Its got plenty of seating along the back wall the and a VIP area upstairs that comfortably fits about 15 people. Overall, it seems like a pretty chill spot although it is long and narrow. That is the only drawback to this venue. But look for yourself....and make sure to stop by Avenue Lounge on the 17th to get drunk with all us Impulse people..... :D

Snowboarding Trip #3

Well this was my third trip up for the 08/09 season and it didn't turn out very well. For starters, Boreal was SUPER icy on all runs except for a few spots where there was some man made powder. The terrain park was not groomed very well for the medium sized jumps, jibs, rails and boxes. That, however, was the least of my troubles. On the first run of the day I got way to exuberant and ended up falling off a box. I landed directly on my right shoulder. At first I thought I was ok, but as the day went on I noticed the pain becoming more and more excruciating. On the drive home I could barely shift gears, reach for my energy drink or change the radio. It was definitely the most irritating and unpleasant drive I've made in my life to this date. Once I was back in the bay area I went to the ER just to make sure i didnt dislocate anything, damage my clavical or have any fractures. The doctor reported back from the Xrays that there was no apperant damage.....thank god. So, they druged me and gave me a sling for comfort. Its been about two days now and my arm still hurts like a B*%&#. Well, tommorrow it's back to work and I'm not sure how thats going to go. I'm sure I'll be having a hard time getting my work done......we'll see. Heres a few pix from tahoe and after i got back from the ER.

Yesterday at work was a pretty gloomy day. I helped Vihn pack up his final things at work and we loaded his MASSIVE tool box onto a trailer as he prepares to make his final trip down to LA on Saturday. Also di*khead Darrell stole my freakin' stall all day with his transmission job that he was unable to finish. But, the day turned around when i recieved three packages in shiping/recieving dept. at Honda. Low and behold my AlienBee flash unit had arrived!!!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!! =D

Well the snow finally hit!!! It's been storming in the Sierra Nevada's for about a week or two. Stephen, Darrell and I decided that we were crazy enough to drive through a sever weather alert in the Tahoe area just to get a few hours of slopes in. Not so sure that was a good idea however it was a good time. The snow was a bit light in areas and I put a nice chunk in my board. (HAHA my next post will be how i fixed it) I always wanted to bring up my SLR to get some pictures in Tahoe but i never had the cahones to do it. This time I brought my XT up and I'm glad I did, even though I was scared as balls that I was going to fall on top of it... haha. Anyway I'm ready to go up aigan very very soon!! Anyone down to go????

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!! Its about 4am on Christmas day and I'm sure I'll be up opening gifts in only a few hours. I went to church for the first time in about a year which was actually pretty exciting. The priest actually made some really funny jokes but his sermon put me my mom and my dad to sleep. LOL i have never seen my parents knock out in church before. That was definetly something amazing. At any rate I had an early presant come in the mail from my Mama in South Dakota. New Honda Apparel

I was walking by and noticed that one of my co-workers had a new Honda beanie. Over the years i have seen many cloths come and go in the parts department but these items I picked up caught my attention instantly! It's rare that I buy Honda Apparel but i liked the hoodie and beanie A LOT.......

Vihn's Going Away

Well, its been about 4 years that I've been working at Honda of Serramonte. Quite a few techs have come and gone during that time. Eventually something new comes along for better or worse and now it is Vihn's time. Working under his wing for the last 3 years has been definitely benefited me in more ways that one. I will miss Vinny's Monster Garage, hand made spring rolls and HALO!!!! haha. It saddens me to see him go, but the move to LA will be in the best interest of him and his family. So, as a farewell to Vihn all of us techs who have worked together for years took one night out to have some fun, and since I don't usually drink I got buzzed off of 2 shots of Patron!!! LOL so sad but whatever we all had fun!! Enjoy guys....

Well, I never thought the day would come when you would actually sell your house. I never thought it would happen so quickly. I am definitely not ready to see you go, I feel like there is still so much I have to learn from you. Even though that may not be the case. It seems like the last 4 years has just gone by in an instant. I will miss you greatly buddy. You taught me everything I would need to know to stand on my own two feet and then some at Honda and in life. Haha, you even taught me dirty words in Vietnamese. I hope that your next apprentice appreciates you as much as I do. Please care of him or her the same you did for me. There's nothing that will ever replace everything I've taken from you. One day I will hopefully be able to repay the deed. Take good care of Kelly, Samantha and Madison down there, even though I know times will be a little rough at first. I will miss them very much as well. When times are right I will surely be down there to visit and you will DEFINITELY have to show me the food spots down there. Take care buddy.

Yoda Fountain

Well, I learned something new the other day. I had NOOOO idea that George Lucas had buildings dedicated to editing films in San Francisco. These buildings reside near Lombard street entrance to the Presidio. There is a park in centering the buildings creating a nice walk from the street to the buildings. On our quest to find the Yoda fountain we found that the Lucas buildings have their very own Starbucks!!! LOL there was a resturant as well but the Starbucks amused me so thats all i remember. At any rate we finaly stumbled upon the Yoda fountain after looking around for five or ten minuets. A Yoda fountain in SF.....who woulda knew!!!! (sorry for the crappy pic, I was pressed for time with no tripod =P)

Wandering in downtown SF

Last Saturday I tried to head over to the SF auto show at the Moscone center in downtown SF. When I got there it was already too late and they had started to close up. After that i decided to kill some time before going to Impala so i was aimlessly wandering around the Metreon and Yerba Buena Gardens. I just like the bright neon lights that surround the Metreon and I had heard that there was a waterfall in the Yerba Buena gardens. Sooo, concidering I've never been there I hunted down the waterfall to get a picture of it. As it turns out its a pretty nice area, at night it is atleast. Well, enjoy folks.....

Through the Eyes of a Pro

I watched a new video this past week called "Through the Eyes of a Pro: Advanced Techniques for Canon DSLR Photographers, Volume 2". This video was AWSOME, and really made me look into backlighting and window lighting. I used a lot of the techniques that Tim Mantoani recommends. Mantoani is the professional photographer narating the documentary offering knowlege on tripods, lense selection, lighting techniques and the most important of tips, "SEEING". You will have to watch the video to know what it is, if you dont already. I took some info from this video and made use of the indirect backlighting in the cafe at skyline..... ENJOY!!!

Last Friday, I went down to San Jose to go to the snowboard expo at the San Jose Convention center. This is a pic of my grandma. She was setting the table for the birthday dinner of my grandpa who just turned 89!!!! Much love to her she cooks some badadd tamales!!! i was sitting way back in the living room so she didnt see me. i was hiding behind some big fat candles..... :) love ya grandma!!

San Bruno City Hall

I was on my way to help a friend of mine who needed some car help but he took forever to get to his house. I found myself outside of the San Bruno City Hall and had never noticed how nice the area actually is. I was stuck there for about an hour with nothing but my camera, thank god i had it otherwise i would have been bored out of my mind!!! At any rate tomorrow is the snowboard show which hopefully i will have some pix of some new gear soon!!!! :D

Todays picture is from a few months ago. A coworker of mine brought his nikon d100 or d200 in along with a 300mm macro lens, or something very close to that. It was a pretty cool set up. The macro function was kinna sweet but it just happens that i caught this guy, we call hime "stupid" or "ohhh Ohhh", during an oil change admiring his rubber glove. LOL i dont know why. Anyway we call him those names because of the stupid ass sounds and remarks he makes. LOL enjoy.......

Blue Angels come for Fleet Week

I finally got caught up on all the club events and remembered that my friend Tiff and I went to watch the blue angels fly on the Sunday of Fleet week. I've gone for the last 2 or 3 years consistently, so there was no reason to break the tradition this year. It was pretty chill not that much traffic heading in or out of Golden Gate park, which was thoroughly amazing. Seeing these suckers fly is SOOOO sick!!! It never gets old, although i wish my friend had more fun. She looked pretty bored the whole time, I guess it wasn't really her forte.

I was extremely bored a few nights ago, before i got swamped with a buttload of journalism homework. I also felt that my 50mm lense was feeling neglected, it tends to sit all by its lonesome in my camera bag. Well here he is about 6 months later, Claudia bought him for me for my birthday and he has been sitting in my excalibur souvenire cup for most of thoes 6months. One of these days i will catch him in flight but theres no one to make him fly....hahaha SUPER MONKEY!!!!!!

Jaeda Lynn's Birthday

So, my story from yesterday continues. I was trying to make it to little Jaeda's birthday after the ski and wine festival but as my luck has it, I was too late. They had been cleaning up for some time by the time that i arrived. Needless to say i wasn't able to document any of the party for Jaeda's mom. I did however I manage to capture Jaeda along with each her mother, father and grandfather. I wish i could have made it to the party a little earlier but the traffic was very heavy in and out of Fort Mason. I had also thought that the event was going to run a bit later than it did. I wish i were superman and i could fly.....that would be awesome....lol.

Ski and Wine Festival

So, its been QUITE a while since I've posted any kind of blog. So these are the different pix from my trip over to South Dakota. This is my mom's side of the family, they moved away from cali about 15 years ago. My little sister graduated from High School.......my aunt helped me with an essay............I had a birthday cake.
